Enhancing Community-Based Mobile Radiology Imaging with Geo-Mapping: Aptvision’s Innovative Solution VisionRIS Mobile

Community mobile radiography services offer a convenient and accessible solution for diagnostic imaging, particularly for individuals with limited mobility or those residing in remote areas. By utilising specially equipped mobile vans, these services eliminate the need for patients to travel to hospitals or clinics, ensuring they receive necessary radiological examinations in familiar environments such as their homes, nursing facilities, or local clinics.

These mobile vans are equipped with advanced radiographic technology, enabling healthcare professionals to perform on-site imaging with efficiency and accuracy. This approach enhances patient comfort, minimizes logistical challenges, and supports timely medical interventions.

By bringing diagnostic services directly to communities, mobile radiography initiatives contribute to improved healthcare accessibility, particularly for elderly patients, individuals with chronic illnesses, and those requiring specialised care. The integration of mobile radiography into healthcare systems plays a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes and optimising resource utilisation.

Aptvision introduced VisionRIS Mobile
, a variant of our VisionRIS targeted at Mobile Radiology providers, whilst delivering the benefits of a full RIS with these enhancements.

Delivering community-based mobile radiology services requires efficient planning and navigation.  VisionRIS Mobile brings real-time adaptability and enhanced geo-mapping features designed to revolutionise how patients and providers experience mobile imaging services. Here's how this innovation boosts geographic data visualisation, streamlines operations, and ultimately enhances patient care.

Empowering Patients with Seamless Navigation

One of the core benefits of Aptvision’s geo-mapping is the improved booking experience for patients. By leveraging an intuitive map interface, patients can locate the nearest mobile imaging services based on their needs. This ensures that patients book appointments in the most convenient and accessible locations, enhancing their experience.

Optimising Resource Management for Providers

Navigating unfamiliar geographies can be challenging for field based imaging services. Aptvision’s geo-mapping feature provides a sophisticated solution for providers:

  • Visual Scheduling Integration: The map displays where procedures need to be performed, their urgency, and other relevant details. This integration ensures staff can allocate time and resources effectively.
  • Interactive Pins: Colour-coded pins indicate the priority level of procedures. For instance, red for critical, yellow for medium priority, and green for routine. Clicking on these pins reveals essential details such as the patient’s needs and the type of imaging required.

From Administrators to Field-Based Staff: A Layered Perspective

This system offers unique benefits for both administrative teams and field-based radiographers:

  • Administrator View: A comprehensive, real-time  view of the location of all field-based staff, activities and assignments is provided. Tasks can be monitored in real-time, with status updates like “Allocated” or “Completed.”
  • Radiographer View: Radiographers can see only the tasks assigned to them. This clarity ensures efficient task management and minimises confusion on the ground.

Key Features for Effective Workflow

  1. Procedure Location Markers: Clinics and mobile units are marked on the map with colour-coded icons representing urgency.
  2. Urgency Indicators: Tags dynamically update to reflect the latest clinical needs.
  3. Comprehensive Procedure Details: Clicking on a marker unveils anonymised patient information, imaging requirements, and clinical notes. Attachments such as referrals may also be accessed.
  4. Interactive Filters: Customise the map to display data based on urgency, modality, or region, offering a tailored view for better focus.
  5. Real-Time Updates: Changes in scheduling or procedure priority automatically update, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness.
  6. Mobile Accessibility: Radiographers can access a mobile-friendly interface, enabling dynamic planning and live updates while on the move.
  7. Journey Planning: Field-based radiographers can manually determine optimal travel routes using the visual map.

Scalable Design for Future Growth

Aptvision’s geo-mapping solution is designed with scalability in mind. As operations expand, the map can seamlessly incorporate new locations while maintaining its intuitive design. This adaptability ensures that both small teams and large networks benefit from the technology.

Driving Efficiency and Better Decision-Making

By integrating enhanced geo-mapping functionality, Aptvision empowers healthcare providers to prioritise procedures effectively, allocate resources dynamically, and deliver exceptional care. In time-sensitive situations, this solution streamlines decision-making and improves workflows, enabling mobile radiology teams to make impactful contributions to communities.

Aptvision’s geo-mapping innovation equips mobile radiology clinics to overcome challenges, improve efficiency, and provide unparalleled patient care.
